Take That recently announced the details of their new tour – which kicks off next year – and revealed that former X Factor finalist Ella Henderson would be their support act for what’s sure to be the extravaganza of live gigs…
And of course, this is the first time that Take That have toured as a trio, featuring remaining singers Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald.
When the tour was first announced, a statement from Take That read, “We’ve always been very proud of our live shows, and are very excited to be touring again next year.
“Playing live is something we love the most about what we do, and we’re looking forward to putting on the most amazing show we can.”
However, it is possibly a daunting prospect to carry off the tour with just three singers where once there was five, but according to Gary, Jason Orange’s decision to quit – Robbie Williams had of course already left the group by the time Jason revealed he was offski too – was the “kick up the bum” that he and his band mates needed.
Speaking on Capital FM’s Breakfast Show this week, the former X Factor judge explained, “It feels like a new chapter. I think it’s made us more hungry for what we’re doing.”
He added, “We are still full of creativity, we want to make records that people enjoy, we want to blow people away with our tours.
“It’s given us a bit of a kick up the bum really this whole thing!”
Gary went on to say, “We’re really looking forward to this night at the O2. It’s a great venue and it’s one go my favourites. It’s going to be an awesome night.”
We have no doubt that all of the Take That gigs next year will be awesome, and we’re hoping to go to at least one of them!
